The Early Childhood Parenting Center
The mission of the Early Childhood Parenting Center is to help parents and early childhood professionals facilitate a healthy early developmental period for young children, thus laying for them a solid foundation on which to build mentally and emotionally throughout life.
The philosophy is based on two core beliefs: that early attachment for infants and toddlers is essential for normal development, and that the patterns laid out in the first few years of life determine what happens later on, with families as well as children.

Parent's Day is Sunday
This Sunday is a day of recognition for the parents in our lives (and possibly us)! Let the kids try their hands at breakfast, encourage them to allow you a few extra minutes of morning sleep or have them plan a fun activity to do as a family. Parent's Day is also about responsible parenting and celebrating the moments when we learn from our children how to be better parents. Of course, the day is also dedicated to recognizing the many types of parenting relationships.
Kid & Parent Fun
Need some ideas for fun things to do with the kids?
Hiking with the kids...
is a great way to get some exercise and teach the kids about nature! Check out Tykes on Trails.
Head to the beach...with the family. "Mother's Beach" in Marina Del Rey offers a no-wave beach with a full playground and grills for a picnic.
Cook with the kiddos...
using these fun recipes!

Support for the Non-Traditional Family
The "traditional" family, a married mother and father parenting their biological children, makes up less than a quarter of households in the US in the 21st century. Where do the other 75% find support for the unique challenges that come along with their family lifestyle? There are a large number of blogs, support groups and informational websites that can provide parents with help. Listed below are just a few.
