Are you home with the kids this summer and need some ideas to keep them busy? Check out our newsletters and events throughout the summer for the most up-to-date info, but here are a few day outings for the family:
Panning for Gold
Gold panning can be a fun, inexpensive way to get the family out into the woods and streams. Pick up some inexpensive camping plates, a shovel and a dishwashing tub. Bring your bathing suits and a picnic and drive to the nearby San Gabriel Mountains. more info
Visit the Museums
Get a break from the heat and check out the fabulous museums Los Angeles has to offer. Look for our upcoming newsletter on the museums and the free days they offer.
Go to Catalina
Boats leave from San Pedro and Marina Del Rey to the ports on Catalina. When on the island there is hiking, kayaking, snorkeling and camping. In just an hour your family can take off on an adventure that feels thousands of miles away. more info
Go to The Beach
And while your at it, book an hour long beach clean-up with Heal the Bay. After your do-gooding for the environment is over, set up a picnic and build castles in the sand.
